Bobbles

Bobbles are a nice way of having a little eye-catcher in your knitted piece by a few simple steps. The technique is not very complicated, but it makes a lot of difference. There are many different ways to knit a bobble. In this example I will show you how to knit a bobble by increasing stitches and repeated turning.

Abbreviations

For the following instructions, some abbreviations are used:

k1, but do not let original st slip off the left needle.

1 new st on right needle, original st on left needle.

Go through the back loop of the original st and k1.

= 2 new sts, original st still not slipped off left needle.

Repeat the two steps 3 more times so that there are 5 new sts on the right needle. Then let the original st slip off the left needle.

Turn work and p5.

Only p the 5 new sts. 

Turn work.

Go through all 5 sts ...

... and k them together.
