Milia Cardigan Knitting Pattern

The Milia Cardigan is an oversized jacket with a straight cut and adorable large bell sleeves. Depending on the choice of outfit, it can be easily dressed up or down for any occasion!

Another small eye-catcher are also the small bobbles, which go around the upper sleeve.

The cardigan is knitted with a thin mohair yarn and a larger needle size, resulting in a slightly sheer fabric.

You have the option to leave the jacket open or to knit two I-Cord bands at the front to tie it.

The instructions are suitable for advanced beginners. Most of the techniques used are explained to you step by step in pictures. Basic knowledge is nevertheless necessary.

  • 100 (100) 125 (125) 150 (150) 150 (175) 175 g, Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting For Olive, 25 g | 225 m, here in Deep Petroleum Blue or a comparable yarn of similar texture and thickness, i.e. Brushed Alpaca Silk or Kid Silk by DROPS

  • or approximately... 760 (850) 950 (1030) 1130 (1220) 1330 (1440) 1550 meters | 830 (930) 1040 (1130) 1230 (1330) 1450 (1580) 1700 yards of Lace Weight Yarn


NEEDLES

  • Circular needle 4 mm, US 6, UK 8 in 40 cm | 16", 60 cm | 24" or the length that feels best

  • Set of double pointed needles 3.5 mm, US 4, UK 10.5


SUPPLIES

  • Stitch markers, stitchholder or piece of yarn, darning needle


GAUGE

In stockinette stitch with 4 mm, US 6, UK8: 17 x 26 = 10 x 10 cm | 4 x 4"

Ribbing k1, p1 with 3.5 mm, US 4, UK 10.5: 24 x 28 = 10 x 10 cm | 4 x 4"


The swatch is washed and measured lying down. The

needle size is a guide and can be adjusted to get the correct stitch sample.
