Morticia Sweater Knitting Pattern

Updated: Aug 12, 2023

Morticia is a fitted sweater with large front and back necklines, that is worked from the top down.

The pattern offers you several options to customize the sleeves, as well as the front and back neckline: a thumb hole, the general sleeve length, ruffles around the necklines and | or straps at the back neckline.

The instructions also tell you how to incorporate optional horizontal bust darts to fit your individual measurements and shape. There are 8 different cup sizes included in the pattern. They are customized to your personal shape and size.

The pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters as it includes many different techniques. You will find step by step descriptions for some of them included. Basic knowledge is required in any case.

The pattern is available in my Store and on Ravelry in English and in German:

SIZES

1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7 (8) 9

Finished garment bust circumference:

60.5 (68) 82 (89.5) 100.5 (111.5) 122 (133) 142 cm |

23.75 (26.75) 32.25 (35.25) 39.5 (44) 48 (52.25) 56"

Intended negative ease:

- 10-15 cm | - 4-6"

The rib pattern contributes to a body-fit look, therefore it is suggested that you knit your top with the indicated negative ease of - 10-15 cm | - 4-6" around the bust for best results. To find your size deduct your preferred negative ease from your actual bust circumference. Choose the size that is closest to this value. If you are in between sizes, I recommend to size down for this design.

Black and Green samples are shown in size 3 with a negative ease of - 14 cm | 5.5": on 96 cm | 38" bust, 75 cm | 30" underbust circumference, a waist measurement of 71 cm | 28.5" and 45 cm | 18" front length measured from shoulder to waist, with a C-cup.
