Ruth Sweater Knitting Pattern

When it comes to two-colour knitting patterns, do you often find it difficult to decide on a main colour and a contrasting colour? It's certainly the case for me!

The beauty of brioche knitting is that it is reversible and looks lovely from both sides. You might already have an idea of what I'm getting at.

Ruth is an oversized, reversible, two-coloured brioche sweater that is worked seamlessly from top to down. Best of all, you don't have to choose, because the colours are equally visible from both sides!

You can choose between working the 1x1 rib stitch crew neckline either to be folded down for a double neckline using a provisional cast on or leave it plain. The shoulders are formed using a saddle shoulder construction. You can include optional waist shaping (like pink sample version) into the body.

It's a fun and relatively quick knit due to the Worsted Weight yarn.

The instructions are suitable for intermediate knitters as they include many different techniques. However, all special techniques are explained step by step in pictures. For example, some of my testers have never or barely knitted a brioche pattern before. Through the instructions, however, they have learnt to do it and got wonderful results. Basic knowledge is nevertheless required.

The pattern is available on Ravelry and Etsy in English and in German:
