Knitting Pattern | MIKA Tee
Mika is a fitted summer shirt with a mesh cutout, that is worked seamlessly from the top down. The tee has a crew neckline with a 1x1 half twisted rib stitch pattern and back neckline shaping using German Short Rows.
The shoulders are formed using a circular yoke construction. The shirt is then separated to work the body and sleeves. Optional horizontal bust darts can be included to tailor to your measurements.The sleeve as well as the body length can be adjusted to your liking.

As a plus size person I am always very unsure if a pattern will suit me. But then I’ve seen Mika on so many different body types, that I just knew this will work out.
The yoke with the dropped stitches looks incredibly cool and is just so much joy to knit. Dropping the stitches is the best part! I did not modify the length, the pattern was just hitting the sweet spot for body and sleeve length.
The pattern is written incredibly well and the support is just the best written pattern support.🖤
Mika is a great casual top, the front and back mesh panels make it a great breathable summer garment. I especially love the option to include bust darts. I am happy that I can pull on this top on any set of pants or skirt and I instantly look fancy. Mika accentuates curves and flatters your least favourite body parts.
The comfort of wearing this design is indescribable but I can tell you I am making more in different colours!
The dropped stitches of Mika make it such a special tee.
It's also so versatile, I've combined it with so many different items from my wardrobe, and it's been a real summer staple.
The pattern is very clear and it allowed me to try out new techniques with confidence. It also includes modifications so that you can customize your tee to make it exactly as you want (eg the bust darts), and the measurements are so on point (I knitted a size1).
