Knitting Pattern | SILYA Hoodie

Silya is an oversized hoodie with a cable pattern detail on the back.
The hoodie is knitted seamlessly from the top down. The front and back are worked flat and then joined together to the round at the underarms to knit the body.
Stitches are picked up around the armholes for the sleeves, which are finished with a Lateral Braid and a folded hem.
Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline to knit the hood using German Short Rows.
Both the sleeve and body length can be adjusted as desired.

NEEDLES & SUPPLIES:
Main Needles: circular needles 8 mm | US 11 | UK 0 in 40 cm | 16" & 60 cm | 24" or length that feels best
Lateral Braid Needles: circular needles that are 1 size smaller than your Main Needles to knit the sleeve detail
Crochet hook about the same size to finish the last stitch of the Lateral Braid
Stitch markers
Stitch holder or scrap yarn
Measuring tape
Darning needle
 
GAUGE:
12 stitches x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm | 4 x 4"
In stockinette stitch worked flat & in the round with Main Needles. Washed, blocked and measured laid flat.
